Artist story and creative journey
I like to make art that makes people happy, and when someone sees a watercolor of the home, they raise their children in it often evokes happy tears. I have been creating larger works on canvas with the mindset that the world is hard and the art in your home should reflect your style but also bring joy. Recently I have been inspired by images that are personally evocative of my life in Texas. I love that commissions get me working in the studio with deadlines and perfecting my craft but I am also encouraged to show my own personal work.

Inspiration and artistic perspective
When my mom passed and I became a mother myself I embraced watercolor and started a commission portrait business painting homes, families, and pets. Nine years later, I have a studio at Art on Main, and my work has expanded to include a wider range of commissions as well as original acrylic paintings on canvas.

Creative process
I try to drop my kids at school and head straight to the studio before I get bogged down with chores and errands. I am the clearest and most creative in the morning. Acrlic is my favorite but want to get into oils.
