Theatrical Rock with an East Dallas Edge

East Dallas-based singer-songwriter Tom Sless is entering an electrifying new chapter with TOM SLESS & TURBO, a high-energy theatrical rock project that combines powerful songwriting, bold performances, and a larger-than-life artistic vision.

Previously known for his introspective singer-songwriter albums Heartland Ballerina and California Dream, written during his travels across the country by van, Sless is now embracing a more dynamic, frontman-driven sound.

The transformation began with his August 2026 single ‘Country Butter,’ written during a songwriting camp in the North Georgia mountains. Collaborating with musicians John Samuel Gerhart and Tim Allen, Sless subsequently developed ‘American Turbo,’ an ambitious rock anthem inspired by the theatrical grandeur of David Bowie and Queen. The song caught the attention of independent label LIGHTWORK, leading to Sless’ signing and the development of his alter ego, Tommy Turbo.

His forthcoming concept album, TOMMY TURBO, explores agency, destiny, excess, and the search for meaning through a theatrical rock odyssey. Onstage, TOM SLESS & TURBO brings this imaginative world to life through evolving arrangements, dynamic performances, and an unmistakable rock-and-roll spirit. Join TOM SLESS & TURBO at East Dallas Vintage for an unforgettable musical finale to Art Walk EAST.
