For artist Valerie Kaiser, painting is an opportunity to slow down, observe, and discover the extraordinary beauty in ordinary objects. Working primarily in oils, Valerie specializes in traditional still-life paintings, finding inspiration in the colors, textures, and quiet arrangements of everyday life.

A fine arts graduate with a master's degree from Washington University, Valerie spent 25 years teaching in Dallas ISD. Since retiring, she has devoted herself to studying and refining her approach to still-life painting, embracing both the technical challenges and the contemplative nature of the genre.

Her artistic journey began in childhood, encouraged by her grandmother, who was also an artist. Today, Valerie continues to find joy in the creative process, taking time to sketch, plan, observe, and respond to the world around her.

Through paintings such as Blue Plate Special, Fruit in a Blue Bowl, and Red Pin Cushion, Valerie hopes viewers will rediscover the beauty of familiar objects and experience the same sense of appreciation that inspires her work.
